Agenda 11:00-11:05 – Quiz 11 11:05-12:15 – Application

Tandem learning Today you will work at your own pace with one other student. There are three projects for you to complete by the end of class. If they are not complete by then, you may turn them in up to the end of Friday. Use your combined knowledge of Microsoft Office to successfully complete these exercises.

Publisher Practice 1 – Award Certificates (approx.15 minutes) Create a fictitious award certificate for a teaching setting. Be creative. Move things around. Give the award for something weird/fun. You must import an image from the web and use it in the certificate. Change the color scheme of the document to match the image you import. Watch your rulers and layout. Stay inside the lines Upload to WebBoard under Publisher Practice 1 Make sure your full names are in the subject line Make sure the file is attached to your posting Grading Criteria: creativity, correct template use, no erroneous layout issues, inserted image, color scheme

Publisher Practice 2 – Flyer (approximately 20 minutes) Create a fictitious flyer for an upcoming fundraiser that you are organizing for your school. The audience for this flyer is professional adults in the community. The flyers will be posted in local businesses around the community (setting). Again, be creative. Get people’s attention. Try to be as detailed as possible. Answer the 5 question words. Import two images from the web that are subject appropriate and use them. Match the color scheme to them. Make sure font size is big enough for people to see. Upload to WebBoard under Publisher Practice 2 Make sure your full names are in the subject line Make sure the file is attached to your posting Grading Criteria: creativity, info clarity, correct template use, no erroneous layout issues, inserted images, color scheme

Publisher Practice 3 – Invitation (approximately 20 minutes) Create a fictitious invitation to your students’ parents for an upcoming art show at your school to present the children’s semester-long art projects. This invitation’s tone is common for teachers – fun but still professional. Be creative, but make sure you get your facts across. Use Word Art at least once. Use two clip art images. Import and use one image from web. Coordinate color scheme. Invitations have multiple pages to them (4 total – front, back, 2 inside). Scroll through the pages using the numbered section of the program’s status bar. Upload to WebBoard under Publisher Practice 3 Make sure your full names are in the subject line Make sure the file is attached to your posting Grading Criteria: creativity, info clarity, correct template use, no erroneous layout issues, inserted images, color scheme
