Overview The Lifter is an asymmetrical capacitor which uses High Voltage ( > 20KV ) to produce a thrust. Basically a RC circuit The Lifter works without moving parts, flies silently, uses only electrical energy and is able to lift its own weight plus some additional load. Lifter is 3.7g and the distance between the wire and aluminum is 2.9cm Theories behind our lift –Ionic-Wind –Biefeld-Brown effect –Electrogravitics

Block Diagram Power Supply 12V Battery Team (viewers) Battery Charger Load Lifter (Object) On / off

Power Supply Input = 12DC Converts to 35kV Regulates current (AC) Variable Spark gap

Experimental Topics Increase lifter size will increase force –Better weight to lift ratio Clean smoother lifter/better build Amount of Thrust lifter makes Different styles of lifters Vacuum Test Turn lifter upside down and see if it goes down. Experiment with no tethers and different wire heights Change lifter design to different fabrications –Controlled Experiments with designs to conduct different test –Outdoor experiment

Problems Spark gap adjusted fixed lift Blew on lifter, to finally got it to lift. After that it always lifted Passing the Potential Well Lowered the load resistance from 10M ohms to 4M ohms Construction of the Lifter is very tedious. Having the right distance between connections so lifter works properly. Efficiency on building lifter

LIFTER VIDEO

What remains to be done Collect data, Calculate (ionic force, thrust,…) Find out how much Voltage/current our power supply is producing. Experiment with different lifters, and compare differences Analyze cause of lift Determine Max lifter height, weight, and thrust Test in vacuum Engineer different structural design
