Presentation transcript:

Hazard and Incident Warning « Majority of events occurring on the road represent a danger for road users » By transmitting road events and road status information to cars, the safespot system improves the driver knowledge of its direct environment, and the overall safety of the road.

Road departure prevention « A high number of road accident involve a single vehicle leaving the road » Real time cooperation between the road side infrastructure and vehicles enable the detection of dangerous trajectories on identified black spots. Appropriate warning can then be delivered to the driver.

Intersection collision prevention « Urban intersection are very dangerous, especially for pedestrians and cycles» A full cooperation between road detection and vehicle detection systems can identify major risks occurring on an urban crossroad and warns any kind of road users.

Emergency vehicle equipment « Safespot services must be available on any location where a danger is detected » Using emergency vehicles as mobile road side units, applications requiring the operator authority can be deployed on locations where there is no specific Safespot equipment.

Dynamic Speed Alert « Majority of road accidents imply an excessive speed as a primary or a secondary cause » By considering vehicles characteristics, legal speed limit, weather conditions, traffic situation and road shape, the safespot system is able to indicate the appropriate speed to the driver in major situations.
