 The reason why I picked Lewis and Clark is because Lewis and Clark went thru a lot of experience together.  I n may 1804 Meriwether Lewis and and William Clark set out on an amazing expedition across the Louisiana territory.  For example they made a code name for there self so that nobody else would know.  Another example is one of the members died from some kind of disease...\My Pictures\lewis and clark.jpg..\My Pictures\lewis and clark.jpg

 The Oregon trail is about how about how a family had experience on the trail.  Oregon was one of the main overland migration routes on the north American continent.  To complete the journey in one traveling season most travelers left in April to may.  The Alamo had went in war with the Mexicans and had lost the war. The war lasted foe like 13 days.  Ten years later, it became a fortress housing the Mexican army group the second flying company of san Charles de parras, who likely gave the mission name the Alamo.  The Mexicans had killed all the Alamo people that fought at the war. There was only one person that had lived during the Alamo.  in the Texas independence the battle of san Jacinto had lasted only 18 minutes.  In the newspaper called the belief manifest destiny. They believed that the Americans had the right and the duty to spread their culture across the continent.  Advocates of the manifest destiny believed that expansion was not only wide but that it was readily apparent {manifest} and inexorable {destiny}  It was used by democrats in the 1840s to justify the war with Mexico; the concept was denounced by Whigs, and fell into disuse after the mid 1850s.  Manifest destiny was in the 19 th century belief that the united states was destined to expand across the north American continent from the Atlantic seaboard to the Pacific Ocean...\My Pictures\manifest destiny.jpg..\My Pictures\manifest destiny.jpg

 Americans were racing farther west to California to go get gold. News of the discovery soon spread, resulting in some 300,000 men, women and children coming to California from the rest of the us and abroad.  A gold rush is a period of feverish migration of workers into the area of a dramatic discovery of commercial quantities of gold.  Gold rush helped spur permanent non-indigenous settlements of new regions and define a significant part of the culture of the north American and Australian frontiers.  Of the 300,000 approximately 150,000 arrived by sea while the remaining 150,000 arrived by land...\My Pictures\gold rush.jpg..\My Pictures\gold rush.jpg
