2000 years ago in Rome, a cruel emperor - Claudius II …

… had a big army that was becoming lazy.

He decided that soldiers should not get married.

The Bishop of Rome, Valentine, did not agree. He married soldiers in secret.

The emperor found out and put him in prison. He tried to make him say that he did not believe in God. Valentine did not want to, so the evil emperor killed him.

Before he died, he cured a girl who was blind. He left her a letter which he signed from your Valentine and this was the first valentine card ever written.
