ISAExpo October 2003: Houston, TX The NeSSI Initiative is characterized by a yr roadmap in terms of developing Generation I components (SP76.02 compliant), Generation II (smart and NeSSI bus connected), and Generation III (a platform for integrating a new generation of Micro-analytical Sensors). A Gen I/II/III status and progress report will be presented. The concepts of NeSSI as a sampling/connectivity platform, its extension to by-line NeSSI Application Clusters (NACs), and its linkage to the Connectivity Initiative (ConnI) will be discussed. This tutorial should be of particular interest to system integrators, vendors developing miniaturized analytical sensors, and end-users interested in reducing process analyzer life-cycle costs. The NeSSI Initiative is characterized by a yr roadmap in terms of developing Generation I components (SP76.02 compliant), Generation II (smart and NeSSI bus connected), and Generation III (a platform for integrating a new generation of Micro-analytical Sensors).
