The Internet:

Nationality of Internet Users, 2002

Active Users America has the greatest number of active users by far. It has more than four times the number of active users as runner-up Japan.

Internet Users in Europe

Internet Users in South America

Internet Users in the Caribbean

Internet Service Providers Worldwide The U.S. has nearly ten times as many internet service providers as its closest competitor, Canada. The U.S. is off this chart with 7,000 internet service providers.

Internet Service Providers: Europe However, more internet service providers does not correspond with greater internet usage. Nearly 60% of Norway’s people were online even though it only has three internet service providers.

Internet Service Providers: South America Likewise, Chile is more online than any country in South America, yet it too has relatively few internet providers.

Internet Service Providers: Caribbean

Broadband Internet: per Capita Access to a good internet connection also affects internet use and its usefulness.

Broadband Internet: Household Many more households than individuals have access to broadband.

Countries with the Most Secure Servers The U.S. dominates this feature of the internet as the larger graph shows. The inset graph more clearly shows how its competitors compare.

Countries with the Most Internet Hosts The U.S. clearly dominates the number of internet hosts as well.
