Problem The average user is concerned with leaving home without safely turning off all of their appliances. This can cause anxiety, stress, or home damages in the case of appliances that do not need to be left unattended for extended periods of time.
Solution Appliance Texter allows consumers the ability to remotely monitor and control the state of their home appliances. Wireless Monitor via (SMS) request on/off state of the appliance through a text message Wireless Controls via (SMS) Turn the appliance on or off with another text message

Technical Constraints
Practical Constraints
Manufacturability - Size Appeal Users don’t want a bulky product. Compatibility Must fit the NEMA 5 standard [1] [2]
Social – Simple: Many Service Providers Large Coverage Area [3]
Social-Simple cont. Easy Setup Plug it in Insert SIM card Text User – Friendly Majority of population knows how to text [4] [5]

Sub-System Tweaking Upgraded BJTs used to control relay Alterations to microprocessor code to delete messages Alteration to code to text the user if the relay appears to be malfunctioning Changes to the current sensor Added a capacitor to the voltage rail
Future Plans [7]
Enclosure for the device
System Testing Upon completion of PCB, testing of soldered components will occur Overall Unit tests for the system in the box Testing will be for functionality
