Acoustic Signature Rating = 1 (essential) Justification –Improves BURRO surveillance and stealth capabilities –Create a signature such that it mimics some other natural sound –Minimization of damage to human ears

Drive Redundancy Rating = 1 (essential) Justification: –Allows for quiet operation when using alternative fuel power source –Provides additional power source to operate accessory equipment –Provides back-up power in case of failure –Can provide regenerative braking

Ground Clearance Rating = 2 (Very Important) Specification: 18 inches Justification: –Allows for better off-roading capabilities –Allows for better break-over angle –Possibility for increased approach and departure angles –Greater fording depth

Plug Power Rating = 1 (essential) Specification: 10-15kW Justification: –Useful for running accessory equipment on BURRO –Can provide power link to other vehicles –Can be used as optional power station when power is lost at base

Reliability Rating = 1 (essential) Justification: –Minimize break-downs and BURRO systems malfunctions –Reduction of maintenance costs –MUST provide reliable support for soldiers –Extended operation life –User confidence in vehicle

Stability/Rollover Resistance Rating = 1 (essential) Justification: –Allows for better handling on un-even terrain –Protection of people and equipment on BURRO –Reduction in repair costs –Improves vehicle agility –Compliments design robustness

Tree Knockover Rating = 3 (somewhat important) Specification: 3 inch diameter Justification: –Assume larger vehicles will be in front –BURRO is small support vehicle –Want to keep vehicle weight under control –Allocate funds to “essential” vehicle criteria
