Project work Visitor's Guide Welcome to London By Shumov Maxim Fedyakov Nickita Consultant: Lapina I.V. School №7 Zheleznodorozhny, 2006

Objectives 1 to find attracts people in London 2 to brush up our knowledge about London 3 to compile visitor’s guide 4 to attract attention of teens to research and project work 5 develop communicative abilities and creative thinking.

Royal London Buckingham Palace is the London home of the Queen When the flag is flying on the top she is at home. Buckingham Palace is large. There are 600 rooms, 78 bathrooms, a cinema, a swimming pool and even a post office. When the Queen is on holiday in the summer the Palace opens to the public. Every day at 11:30 a.m. you can see the Ceremony of the Changing of the Guard. The Royal Family is one of the special thing Britain, something really unique nowadays. London is one of the few places in the world you can meet a real queen and visit real royal palace. Buckingham Palace.

The Tower of London You can see the Tower of London from the river Thames. The Tower has 900-year history. It was a fortess, a royal palace and later a prison. It is a museum now. There lot of interesting collections in the Tower of London. The ravens are another famous sight. The legend says that with-out them the Tower will fall. The Raven master is the person who gives them food.

London's Landmarks Tourists in London always want to visit Westminster and see Big Ben. They want to see the clock in its tower. Big Ben is really a bell. You hear it every hour. It is a big bell. It weighs 13 ? 720 kilograms. It has a deep tone and you can hear it on the radio, 'This is the BBC. The time is sex o'clock." And then you hear the deep boom of Big Ban six times. Big Ben

The Palace of Westminster The famous clock Big Ben stands hear the Houses of Parliament. The country's leaders speak in the Houses of Parliament. The men and women there are the voice of the British people. The House Parliament stand beside the river Thames. You can go on a boat from Westminster and see London from the river. You can also see the House of Parliament from Westminster Bridge.

Westminster Abbey Standing not far from the Houses of Par lament, West-minster abbey is a symbol of England. The legend says that W.A. was founded by St. Peter himself. We know that Westminster Abbey was built by king Edward in The coronation of all British kings and Queens takes place in W. Abbey. Some famous English реорle are also buried here. The funeral service for Diana, Princess of Wales took place in West minster Abbey in September 1992.
