ISDA Pesticide Management Approach to EPA Grant Guidance Idaho Rules Governing Pesticide Management Plans (PMP) for Ground Water Protection. A surface water approach will be developed. Identify pesticides of interest, & concern. Identify pesticides to be managed. Work to utilize the registration and registration review process.

ISDA Pesticide Management Approach to EPA Grant Guidance Monitor compliance with and enforce non- compliance with water quality protection as enumerated on labeling. Implement routine inspections in areas of known ground & surface water pesticide detections. Education Evaluate the success using water monitoring information.

Surface Water Program Developing a Program Develop a surface water approach Ag and Urban watersheds Salmonid bearing streams CWA 303(d) pesticide listed streams Conduct monitoring, & response Ensure proper use of pesticides and the protection of the environment from pesticides 303(d) list; add or remove

Interagency Involvement PMP Rule has an Advisory Committee Idaho Ground Water Plan - Ag Ground Water Coordination Committee –Education & BM P Subcommittees Surface Water & Pesticides Coordination Committee Region 10 EPA & States Water Quality & Pesticides Coordination Group

Challenges Ahead Conducting state PMP rule making Implementing new Surface Water Program Determining reference points (DCBA) & SW benchmarks Coordinating with IDEQ and EPA on Idaho 303(d) listed streams 303(d) delisting process Determining vulnerable surface water sites Getting data from other public agencies, registrants, EPA, EPA contractors Tracking pesticides of interest, concern, & management State rule making for restrictions more stringent than the EPA label Funding
