Standard: Follow precisely a complex multi-step procedure when carrying out experiments, taking measurements, or performing technical tasks; analyze the specific results based on explanations in the text. Learning Target: Follow the complex multi-step procedure for unpacking standards in order to create learning targets; analyze the created learning targets based on whether they are student friendly and show a student’s progression in meeting the target. Student-Friendly Learning Target: Rewrite Common Core Standards into easy-to- understand language that reflects what a student needs to be able to do in order to meet it. Target Steps: ____1. I can give a definition of standard, learning target, assessment anchor, and eligible content. ____2. I can understand the difference between a standard and a learning target. ____3. I can write a learning target in language easily understood by parents and students. ____4. I can break down the target into skill and knowledge subsets. ____5. I can analyze my learning and progression within this Standard by specific results of my performance of the subset skills and knowledge.
