Online Application General Information Essays Transcripts and teacher recommendations still have to be submitted through mail (Reasons unknown)

A new national survey of 400 students shows that high school and college students are leaping onto the Web in droves and expecting their universities to do so as well.

Virginia Tech university spokesperson Kelly Queijo said “The administrators were noticing increasingly communicating with students by . They changed to online applications in order to meet their needs.” She said, “Not Surprisingly, the No. 1 requested major from applicants from the web was engineering. The second most popular was computer science.”

Advantages Some schools offer a reduced application fee for filing applications online and schools offer a secure server transaction for credit card or electronic funds transfer payment. Students have the ability to track the status of an application on the internet anytime Other benefits include time efficiencies for students and institutions, and the ability to provide immediate confirmation to the students that the application was received by the institution
