Does salt water or lemon juice have any effect on the rate of dehydration of different types of apples.

I predict salt water will have the effect on the rate of dehydration because the water content of apple are retained with the presence of salty water.

 Gather all materials.  Cut the red, green and golden apples 4 equal slices.  Weight the red green, and golden apple slices,separately.  Pour water into a cup, then add ½ a cup of salt.  Split the different apple slices in half, dip 1 half into the salt water and the other into the lemon.  Let it rest for 5 minutes.  Then weigh again and write down the data.  Repeat steps 5,6 and 7 2x7 but don’t repeat the part split the different apple slices in half.

I did 3 trials for each type of 1 apple,1 with salt,water and 1 with lemon juice. The data shows that the salt water had the greater effect on the rate of dehydration. The highest average weight of an apple using salt water was , while using lemon juice was

I soaked two slices of each type of apple into salt, water. When I weighed the apple the red apple had the most weight, with an average of kg. In the second place was the golden apple with an average of 0.473kg.last was green apple with an average of kg. next I took the other two slices of each apple and inserted them into the lemon juice. This time the apple with the most weight was the red and golden apples with an average of 0.473kg.the fast was the green apple with average of 0.159kg.

During the experiment I realized that the salt water did effect the dehydration of the apple. The data shows that the weight of apples dipped into salt water increased more than the weight of the apples dipped into lemon juice. My prediction was correct.
