Multiple lasers strike the fusion Target. A variety of particles are ultimately released (including tertiary neutrons). Carbon sensor is activated by neutrons; some air in the tube is activated by primary neutrons. Blowers are activated, pulling the carrier towards the system’s analysis station. The carrier triggers photodetector #1, turning off blower #1.

The carrier triggers photodetector #1, turning off blower #1 and closing valves #1 and #2.

Photogates track the carrier through the tube system. The final detector opens a valve allowing the carrier to reverse. Clean air is cycled through the carrier until a Geiger counter indicates acceptable levels have been reached. Once “clean”, the carrier enters the final leg, carrying it towards the Na-I detector station.
