Hopping On and Off Career Track By Michelle Quinn

Does work have constant meaning and value for mothers? Not for “sequencers.” “Sequencing” = Work hard before children. Stay home with children. Work “flexibly” when children are older. Sequence of ideals about work = I am my career. I am a mother. I am both, but to a different degree than before.

Questions about Sequencing Are there restrictions on which women are able to do this? –Income level? –Type of work/career? What should the fathers be up to? What should the attitude of companies be?
