In analyzing the cases, we identified five major contextual factors: (1) school background, (2) school strategies, (3) principal leadership, (4) school ICT infrastructure, and (5) government and community support. These contextual factors influenced change at the school level within which innovative pedagogical practices took place in classrooms. These factors help to characterize the nature of innovation schools.
