Our Local Native People Big Ideas:  People will adapt to their environment in order to survive.  People have historically formulated myths and legends to explain occurrences in their environments.  Communities create ceremonies to solidify the major events of their culture.

Differentiated Instruction is provided through the analytical, creative, and practical components of lessons that include the major learning styles of the students. Settlement Survival Shelter Design Culture

NB Proposition #2 “Teachers know the subjects they teach and how to teach those subjects to students.” Throughout my research on local history I have become more and more enamored with the rich content I discovered. The quest has become to impart this richness to the students in a meaningful way. With this new unit, I believe I have finally found the venue that will both inspire and educate the learner as I have always hoped it would. This is the best way I know how to teach this subject to the students.
