Building educational games and software for the OLPC XO users world-wide.

Free and Open-Source Software Grants the right of users to use, study, change, and improve it. “Free as in free speech, not as in free beer.” That said, many FOSS products are also free of cost, though not all of them.

Since then offered 3 additional times Now an official course “Humanitarian Free and Open Source Software Development” You don’t have to be a programmer to take it. Projects need artists, animators, project managers/team leaders, etc.

Course Content FOSS process topics such as how to join an on- going project or announce a new one. Hands-on sessions on tools and tool usage within the FOSS community such as repository systems, bug tracking, IRC, WIKIs and more. Project research and pitching, design document creation, distributed group management, blogging, etc. Child development, lesson plans and other aspects of educational software and game development.

After The Course Opportunities for… Community events like Hackfests, Conference Presentations and more Independent Studies hour/week campus jobs (when we have funding) Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowships Co-Ops – Paid (when we have funding) – Unpaid (Depending on your program) GCCIS allows unpaid Co-Ops for students working for 501c3 registered not-for- profit organizations
