Dr. Joe Herbein, Professor Dairy Science of Virginia Tech Teaching will always be the most difficult thing anyone with a research/teaching appointment does. The personality of each class differs from semester to semester and year to year, and the conditions within each lecture/lab session vary as the topics change. Just try to remain enthusiastic and make the students feel that being with them is the most important thing on your schedule for that day.

Mentoring Experience  Had a Fulbright visiting scholar from Indonesia for 5 months  Published a book chapter during his stay at my lab  Took my graduate course (Rumen Physiology & Metabolism)  Recommended a potential PhD student with governmental scholarship program  Collaborated for his application (research plan, USU supporting plan, etc.)  Awarded the PhD scholarship program for 3 years
