Understanding The Weather By: Stephanie Ring

Weather vs. Climate Weather refers to the conditions of the atmosphere at a certain place and time. Climate deals with the long-term conditions in the atmosphere

What Can We Measure? Temperature Air Pressure Wind Direction Clouds- type Precipitation-type and amount Special conditions and changes

Lesson Objectives In class the students will learn about weather and climate. I will teach them how to record temperatures, distinguish between different forms of precipitation, wind direction, air pressure, and various forms of clouds. Daily the students will record their data on the sheet provided and will be taught how to use excel. At the end of the unit the students will put all their data into excel and will be able to create graphs comparing the weather across the different days.

Using Excel I will teach the students through out this lesson how to use excel. I will give them mini exercises' to make sure they are understanding everything. I will give the students a template that I created on excel that they can use for this exercise. An example of the exercise: Excel Spreadsheet
