Woodwind Instruments: Flute Oboe Bassoon Clarinet Saxophone
Flute Made of a hollow metal tube that is closed off at one end. Sound is created by blowing into a hole near the closed end. This is the only woodwind instrument that does not use a reed.
A slender woodwind instruments that uses a double reed.
Used by Oboe and Bassoon
This low pitched instrument is 8 feet long once unwound. Like the oboe it uses a double reed.
This instrument is made of wood or plastic. It uses a single reed to produce sound.
Used by Clarinet and Saxophone
This instrument is curved and made of metal. It uses a single reed similar to the clarinet.
