location Macon is located an hour and a half away from Atlanta and is almost centered right in the middle of Georgia. It is so close to the center of Georgia that it is nicknamed the, “Heart of Georgia.” Art Billingslea
Population Macon is the sixth largest city in Georgia, right after Athens. The population of Macon in 2010 is 97,255 Downtown Macon during the early 1900’s Art Billingslea

Places to Eat in Macon Some of my favorite places to eat in Macon were at: Zaxby’s McDonalds Taco bell Nu-Way Weiners *Zaxby’s and Nu-Way are mostly located in the South. Art Billingslea
Festivals There are a number of great festivals in Macon through out the year such as: International Cherry Blossom fair The Georgia State fair Pan African Festival To name a few. Art Billingslea

Why I Macon The reason I love Macon is because it is a medium sized town where everyone knows each other and you can make friends that last a life time. It is not hard to get around at all and is a very clean city. I love the south and I am proud to be a Maconite. Art Billingslea
