Jo Beth Folger FAC - CF Breakout – Sector April 8, Description Demolition of existing 1700 ft 2 Alcove Bldg. Construction of new 2250 ft 2 Bldg. in ~ same location with 10’ extensions on ends. Laser Room to be Class 100,000 equivalent cleanroom, with certain materials (ceiling tiles, finishes) to be typical of Class 10,000 cleanrooms. Construction of new 300 ft 2 “RF Hut” in Klystron Gallery with Temperature Control ± ½ degree F Some cable trays and supports (to support 35 lbs/linear foot). Surface mounted electrical distribution in injector alcove area. Electrical Equipment – New Substation K- 10B, 1500 KVA, 12.47K V to 480 V, 3 phase delta/wye (separate subcontract,) Feed from Substation K-10B (separate subcontract) New 2000 Amp Motor Control Center (purchased by SLAC as LLP, installed by S20 general subcontractor) Service for LCLS Sector 20 equipment only (not Sectors 21-30) 5T crane to injector area below

Jo Beth Folger FAC - CF Breakout – Sector April 8, Excluded from S20 Conventional Facilities Project No experimental equipment included in scope of this project. No PPS, laser safety or radiation shielding in scope of this project. Cabling to be designed by SLAC and installed by subcontractors as separate project. Some cable trays (which will be supported by future racks) will be designed by SLAC installed with cabling mentioned above.

Jo Beth Folger FAC - CF Breakout – Sector April 8, Challenges Management SLAC policy changes in the wake of 10/11/04 electrical accident are still being developed. Cost/Schedule Risk Cost estimate based on Jacobs estimate 2/23/05 – confirmation when bids are received from subcontractors. Bids due 4/14/05. Schedule verification during bid process. We will specify desired schedule, but may receive comments. Technical Electrical Design Plans Review process at various stages of design Arc-Flash hazard analysis to be performed by SLAC Configuration Management Electrical Working Group

Jo Beth Folger FAC - CF Breakout – Sector April 8, ES&H Issues Demolition activities Asbestos sampling and analysis by SLAC ES&H– none detected. Lead paint sampling and analysis by SLAC ES&H – low (non-hazardous) levels detected. No danger to workers, but debris will be handled by EH&S Waste Management. BAAQMD permit process to be initiated after selection of contractor (ES&H in conjunction with project) Construction activity hazards Managed by SLAC trained UTR. Includes preparation of Pre-work Hazard Analysis and Job Hazard Analysis and Mitigation (JHAM). Subcontractor will be required to staff project with a Construction Safety Professional Radiation Review of plans by Stan Mao, RPD, and his requests incorporated in design. Hoisting/Rigging Citizens’ Committee and/or Hoisting/Rigging inspector will review the Subcontractor’s Rigging Plan prior to work, and inspect equipment used by Subcontractor at SLAC
