La commission scolaire Marguerite-Bourgeoys is a French public school board With an enrollment of 45,000 students and 88 schools, the board is the second largest in Quebec Close to 50% of it’s enrollment is not born in Canada We are located on the western part of the island of Montreal
Although our source systems interface fairly well, there were no monitoring and decision making tool available to managers Those same managers; depending on who they asked for information, got different results Reports were built on an ad-hoc basis, with complex SQL query behind Excessive use of Microsoft Access Managers are making decisions based on intuition To make matters worse, we have no tool to monitor student success !
Isolate as much as possible the dashboard from technological changes in GRICS databases or from ministry of education changes Use microsoft SQL Server 2005 BI technology and Sharepoint 2007 Create a dashboard with key performance indicators for superintendants and principals Using Business Intelligence principles, best practice and techniques, create a dashboard to monitor student success
