Formative Peer Review Overview of Project Components Definitions of Formative and Peer Review Process Review Guidelines

Definition Formative Assessment: Developmental, along the way. Guides the process and the end product. Does not result in a grade or score.

Definition Peer Review: Two or more participants who are equal in standing. Agreed-upon process. Agreed-upon outcomes.

Review Process Types of Peer Groupings: Pairs. Small groups (3-5 people each). Divide the whole class in half and form two groups, A and B.

Review Reminders Offer comments on both strengths and areas for improvement. Provide language support in advance, as needed. Stay with the time allowed and divide it equally. Use a timekeeper, as needed.

Holistic Rubric Project planning and organization. Project content and student work. Alignment of project goals with appropriate formative and summative assessment. Other comments.
