What is Google Wave? Introduced at the Google I/O conference on May 27, 2009 “Personal communication and collaboration tool” Hosted conversation that anybody can be given access to view and edit Designed to merge , IM, wikis, and social networking Focuses on real-time collaboration Built almost entirely in HTML 5

Using Wave Waves act like a real-time threaded conversation Messages can be seen as they are typed in real time Waves can be played back at anytime, showing all edits, step by step Files can be instantly shared with all participants in a wave via drag-and-drop Waves can be embedded onto other web pages Infinitely expandable with extensions and bots

Bots and Extensions Open source architecture allows for others to expand on the functionality Bots can be added to waves and perform functions Ex real-time translation botreal-time translation bot
