Includes discussions of crystal binding and structure; energetics and structure of lattice defects; elasticity, plasticity, fracture; phase equilibria and transformations; relations of structure and properties; structures of inorganic and organic polymers; electronic and magnetic properties. POSC319/COMM319 - Topics in Politics and Broadcast Journalism: Geopolitics of Turkey and the Mediterranean (3 cr.) Cross-listed with COMM 319. Satisfies the following requirements: Satisfies Engineering upper level elective requirement. POSC340/ COMM340 - Politics and the Media (3 cr.) This course focuses on the political importance of international journalism such as satellite television and internet news. It will feature topics such as the power of images/photographs to influence public opinion. Students will write and take photos for their own reports on the geopolitics of the Mediterranean.
