Sometimes, when you are putting a piece of Clip Art into your Word, Excel, or PowerPoint document, you might wish there were some way to edit the picture... to take out some part of it. With some types of Art, this is possible using the “Edit Picture” command. OFFICE 2007: Ungrouping Clip Art
First, let’s talk about two different types of graphics. On the right above is a Raster graphic. Your computer sees it as a photograph... made up of many tiny dots or pixels. With a Raster graphic, you do not have the “Edit Picture” option. OFFICE 2007: Ungrouping Clip Art
Now on the right above, is a Vector graphic. It is a much simpler line drawing. Since it is only made up of lines and shapes... instead of all those little dots... it can be ungrouped and edited. OFFICE 2007: Ungrouping Clip Art
To edit a Vector graphic, select the graphic and then right click your mouse within the graphic. A drop down box will appear … select “Edit Picture.” OFFICE 2007: Ungrouping Clip Art
Say you want to remove the ‘1’ from the car door and helmet. Simply double click on the ‘1’ and depress the “Delete” button. OFFICE 2007: Ungrouping Clip Art
Voila … the ‘1’ is removed from the car door. Repeat those steps to remove the ‘1’ from the helmet. OFFICE 2007: Ungrouping Clip Art
