How Telomeres Relate to Aging Telomere contains our genetic information and cause the ability for the cells to divide The Hayflick Limit (number of times a normal cell population will divide before it stops), is directly related to telomeres When cells reach their Hayflick limits the body systems start to shut down This is known as aging Every time a cell in your body divides, it loses a little bit of its telomeres

When the cells divide the length becomes shorter, which causes the cell to die However telomeres alone can not make up for aging Telomeres are venerable to stress and this could lead to aging much quicker. Eating telomere's supporting vitamin like strawberry and broccoli can really increase telomere activity. More research still is being done. How Telomeres Relate to Aging...
