STEP 1 Come set looking at your catcher to get the signs

STEP 2 Drop your left foot back (right foot if you’re left handed) about 4-10 inches to the back left of your original position. This is called a rocker step

STEP 3 Now pivot your foot that is on the rubber so that it is on the inside and ready to push off when striding towards the plate

STEP 4 Now you are going to lift the leg you took your rocker step with to the power position. This is shown in the picture.

STEP 5 Now as your leg starts to drive down and towards home plate, you must break your hands over your leg so your arm doesn’t fall behind.

STEP 6 After the split, you are going to drive off your back leg as hard as you can to gain ground towards home plate.

STEP 7 Now after the pitch has been delivered you must hold your follow through so you can affectively field your position.
