Verbs Using -um, mag verbs in giving commands Um ang mag are both actor focus verbs Affixing paki- to make requests Narrating Completed activities using - um and mag- verbs

-um verbs Affixed before the first vowel of the root –basa - bumasa - –sulat - sumulat - Not all -um verbs can be affixed with paki (please) –Pakibasa ang libro. –Pakisulat ang pangalan mo.

-um verbs -Infinite = completed aspect Kumain ka, Rita. Kumain si Rita kahapon.

Mag- verb laro - maglaro - to play Maglaro kayo sa labas. mag- becomes nag in the completed form Naglaro si Mila kanina sa labas.

Sentences (Positive and Negative Command) Tumalon ka, Mila! –Jump, Mila! Tumihaya kayo. –You lie on your back! Huwag kang umupo! –don’t (you) sit!

Sentences (Completed Aspect) Umalis siya kanina. –Left he/she earlier Kumain si Ben ng saging kaninang umaga

Affixing Paki- Pakisulat ang pangalan mo. –Please write name your. Pakibasa ang libro. –Please read the book.

Questions Ano ang ginawa mo kahapon? What did you do yesterday? –Sumayaw at kumanta ako sa bahay. Kumain ka na ba? (eat you already?) - Have you eaten? –Oo, kumain na ako. (yes, eat I) - Yes, I ate. –Hindi, hindi pa ako kumain. (No, No I eat) - No, I did not eat.

Uminom ka ba ng maraming tubig?(drink you lots of water?) - Did you drink lots of water? –Oo, uminom ako ng maraming tubig. (yes, drink I lots of water) - Yes, I drank lots of water) –Hindi, hindi ako uminom ng maraming tubig. (No, No I drink lots of water) - No, I did not drink lots of water.

Write a sentence in completed form using words given: kain/Ben/kanina/pansit takbo/siya/gym/kagabi basa/sulat/libro/aklatan

Write a complete sentence as directed. Use Paki- Request someone to write his/her name. Request someone to read this book.
