Review of Goals Our goals for 2011 ‐ 2012 are: Sustain our funding to continue established programs and PTA ‐ sponsored events at Lees Corner by increasing the people who join PTA, register their Giant cards, and turn in Box Tops for Education Continue to do fundraising that allow families to spend time together (Family Fun Nights, 6th Grade Basketball Game, Scoop Nights, Restaurant Nights, Track ‐ A ‐ Thon, etc.) Update the Lees Corner PTA website Work with the new principal to meet Fairfax County technology goals for students, particularly as they relate to Netbooks for the classrooms

PTA Update – December 2011/January 2012 Events Book Fair $3,829 for library + $700 in Scholastic Bucks ; waiting on check from Baja Fresh Student Programs Cultural Arts – Chinese Acrobats coming 2/1/12 Chess Club – sign-ups for Spring semester were distributed 1/4/12 Mad Science – 2 classes and 41 students enrolled 6 th Grade Basketball - planning for 3/23/12 event 6 th Grade Luncheon – soliciting volunteers for June event Committees Directory – less than 100 orders received; no hardcopy Directory printed Family Fun Night – procuring 5 year license for group movie watching; movie night to be held in February Grounds – Planning for spring cleanup activities School Supplies – initiating contact with teachers to begin to identify supply needs for next year Spirit Wear – sold final inventory at the Book Fair SURF – provided bookmarks and candy canes for all LCES students for Snuggle Up with a Book Day Teacher Appreciation – Grab and Go lunches provided on 12/1911 Volunteers – provided parent assistance for Thanksgiving luncheon on 11/17/11 and Book Fair week, recruited parents to help with Art, Cafeteria, Library, and the Clinic Website – website updates nearly complete; beginning to review ideas for updated look and feel of site Fundraising Giant – 76 registrations Donations - $50 Vocelli’s pizza Corporate Matching - none Dining Days – completed final Dining Days with Vocelli’s; total earned $1,185; Mr. D had 4 th graders send thank you notes to participating restaurants
