CESA #1 IPAD BOOTCAMP A 60 minute intro to the CESA #1 IPad for use in agency services.

CESA #1 IPADS – IS A PILOT YEAR  To explore the use as a tool in the delivery of agency services and/or to enable connectivity to others within the agency for business purposes.  Currently (January 2012) no agency department is requiring the use of an ipad to deliver a service or as an expectation of job requirements. After the pilot year, a review will occur and next step decisions made by leadership of the departments as to services and staff who will use an iPad for agency work.

Resource sites for educators as well as tips, hints, and other CESA #1 iPad information  iPads in CESA #1 Work – A Google Group. Access through the Group link in your . This is where info will be posted and where you can share with others assigned an iPad at CESA #1.  Search, read, view the many resources online for educators and iPad use.  DO NOT USE THE APPLE STORE AS HARDWARE SUPPORT.

SETTING UP  Find the Settings app and open  Tap Mail, Contacts, Calendars  Add Account  Gmail  Complete the wizard using your CESA#1 .

SET UP THE APP STORE  General Settings - Store  Sign out if is  Go to the next step and buy an app before you do anything else.

BUY A FREE APP TO CREATE YOUR APPLE ID  You will need to set up an account that is not attached to a credit card.  You do this by buying a FREE app and establishing your account. If you do not do this in the stated order, you will have difficulty.  When “Do you want iBooks 2 ?” comes up click download – this will start the process.  You will need an 8 character password with one capital and one number included.  Follow the instructions making sure to select NONE for credit.  You can buy a “paid” app at anytime and you will enter in your credit info when that occurs. This protects you from someone using the iPad and purchasing things without your approval. CESA #1 will only pay for apps that were approved prior to a purchase by your director.

SET UP ICLOUD  Create an Apple ID using your CESA #1  This will be your “business” iTunes and Apple ID  Do not mix business with personal.
