TERM PROJECT The Project usually consists of the following: Title Abstract Table of Contents Introduction Problem Definition Objectives Methodology Results Discussion Conclusions References

1. TITLE The title should be related to the problem being searched and evaluated Example: Motion and time study for workstation at…….. Bad Example: IE 441 PROJECT. The title should be in the cover page. The cover page should contain the course name and the authors’ names and numbers.

2. ABSTRACT The abstract is simply a summary of the project. It should contain information about: The location of the project. The problem found. The objectives related to the problem. The Method. The most important results and final conclusions. The size of the abstract should not exceed 200 words.

3. TABLE OF CONTENTS The table of contents should contain all the chapters, sections, and subsections of the project along with their page numbers. (You may use the T.O.C feature in Microsoft Word) If the project contains tables and/or figures, then there should be a list of tables and/or a list of figures. Any table or figure should have a number and a caption. Any table or figure should be referred to in the text and not just put without any reference to it.

4. INTRODUCTION It is used to give an overview of the subject of the research and the location of the study. It should contain information about the most important engineering concepts and information related to the nature of the research. All important related factors and variables should be presented. It should not be treated as a summary of the course.

5. PROBLEM DEFINITION The problems in the research area should be addressed and explained clearly. The Size, importance, and effect of the problem(s) should be presented from an engineer’s point of view. Any possible cause(s) or reason(s) of the problem(s) should also be presented.

6. OBJECTIVES The research objective(s) should be presented clearly. The objective(s) should be related to the problem(s) defined. The objective(s) should be justified.

7. METHODOLOGY The steps needed to achieve the research objective(s) should be presented clearly. The reason for choosing the methodology steps should be made clear. (are they appropriate?, Are there any other steps? If yes, then why were they not used?.....) Any limitations or assumptions should be presented clearly.

8. RESULTS All the results of the project should be presented. It is expected that all the results are needed to achieve the research objective(s).

9. Discussion All the results should be discussed clearly. The meaning of a result and it’s relation to the problem(s) and/or the objectiv(s) should be included.

10. CONCLUSION This chapter should contain the general conclusions of the research. The degree of the objective(s) achievement should be presented.

11. REFERENCES Any research paper, thesis, conference paper, or book used in the project should be referred to in the text and should be included in the list of references. The reference list should never contain a reference which was not referred to in the text. The format should be acceptable (Use any of the Known scientific journals formats).

The overall quality of the project should be acceptable. Spelling mistakes or grammatical errors should be avoided.
