The Rise of CIVILIZATIONS! CIVILIZATION: A group of people in a certain area that have a high level of cultural and technological development. Essential Questions: 1.Why did the first civilizations develop in the Fertile Crescent? 2.What major advances came out of Mesopotamian civilization? 3.How does Jewish history connect to the history of Mesopotamia?

FARMING CHALLENGE REFLECTIONS 1.What do all the farming challenges have in common? 2.What did a farming community need to carry out their plan? 3.How did these communities change over time?

WHERE DID THIS FARMER LIVE? I live next to a river. I must protect against winter floods I must provide water for my crops during summer droughts. I worry about the autumn winds. I hope that my wife can protect me from the enemy village!
