Clinical Update Rise Health initiative in Primary Care to be implemented July 1, 2011 Clinical volume growing on outpatient, flat to decreased on inpatient discharges, and increased in Observation patients Clinical collections increased substantially in March Inpatient mortality rate continues to decline Access for new patients continues to improve in outpatient clinics

Productivity Targets v 2.0 Goals of working group – Close DOM funding gap for MD salaries – Mean of 50 th percentile for 2009 and 2010 MGMA academic benchmarks – Create achievable and aggressive targets – Retain individual targets and accountability – Create a team-based approach through use of section targets – Reduce some of the down-side salary risk for individuals

Features of Productivity Plan v 2.0 Individual targets sum of: – Specialty specific target – Outpatient e/m across dept – Inpatient e/m (85% of specialty specific target) Section targets sum of: – Specialty specific target x clinical ftee + outpatient e/m x clinical ftee Individual incentive pool to be retained for each section Faculty who do not reach individual targets: – Salary reduced by 20% of clinical effort up to maximum of 10% of total salary – Salary reduction attenuated if Section hits targets
