History 1896 –Salford Working Men’s College merged with Pendleton Mechanics Institute. –This formed the Salford Technical Institute.
History 1921 –Renamed to Royal Technical Institute, Salford –2 parts: Royal College of Advanced Technology and Peel Park Technical College.
History 1961 –Peel Park Technical College became Salford Technical Institute. Salford College of Technology (in 1970). Then University College of Salford (in 1992) –Royal College of Advanced Technology changed its name to University of Salford.
History –Both institutes joined together and became the University of Salford as it is today!

Salford University Student Union The Pavillion (Pav) The Pav is situated on Castle Irrwell student Village Open 3 times a week till 3am Otherwise shuts at 11pm
