6.What is the difference between multiculturalism and ethnocentricity? Which mentality is Canada now known for having? When did we change from one to the other and why?

 Multiculturalism accepts all cultures and values them equally.  Ethnocentricity focuses on one culture and believes it is superior to others.  We are now known for multiculturalism.  We changed AFTER 1945, when WW2 ended and we realized we had been racist and contributed to the atrocities of the Holocaust in our own way.

 Canada is made up of regions which are very different geographically, giving each its own cultural identity. People have more in common with, and better understand, people from their own region.

Canadian Radio-Television Commission Assures that at least 30% of our TV shows and radio music is Canadian. Gives opportunity for CDN talent to advance, CDN views to be shared among us and CDN people to be role models.
