Case studies via web or CD-Rom. information handling skills developing understanding

More (2/4) Subject specific exercises Possible student activityStrategies for the use of CFL to accomplish learning task Online assignments through the TDG, with assignment solutions forming the basis for ongoing discussions Simulations, WebCT online testing linking theory to practice

More (3/4) Possible student activityStrategies for the use of CFL to accomplish learning task Online debates, posing questions for the group, facilitating student generated questions 1. Divide students into groups and set TDGs specific to that group, with a common TDG for the development of the final argument 2. Including TDGs as part of tutorial exercises, requiring students to develop a set of FAQs specific to particular concepts, posting solutions to assignments/questions for discussion 3. Role playing exercises. 4. Visiting scholar(s) practicing discussion, argument, articulation of ideas

More (4/4) Possible student activityStrategies for the use of CFL to accomplish learning task Undertaking assignments – doing tutorials and receiving feedback 1. Providing student specific discussion groups for the sharing of ideas and resources. 2. Setting up mentoring processes in the discussion groups. Completing exercises in teams, sharing resources, discussing concepts and answering questions Allowing students to set up their own discussion groups, group projects, engaging students in collaborative tasks (problem solving) rehearsing skills/ procedures practicing teamwork
