AreaPerimeter Circumference Vocabulary

Row 1, Col 1 Calculate the area of an isosceles right triangle that has legs measuring 8 centimeters. The area is 32 square centimeters.

1,2 What is the perimeter of a triangle that has sides measuring 4 cm, 5cm, and 8 cm ? The perimeter of a triangle that has sides measuring 4 cm, 5cm, and 8 cm is 17 centimeters.

1,3 If a circular pool has a diameter of 19 feet, what is its circumference? The circumference is feet.

1,4 What is Area? The number of square units inside a figure

2,1 The area of a trapezoid is 24 square yards. he measures of the bases are 3 yards and 9 yards. Find the measure of the altitude. The altitude measures 4 yards.

2,2 What is the perimeter of a regular octagon that has a side that measures 8 centimeters? A regular octagon has eight congruent sides. Its perimeter would be 64 centimeters.

2,3 Find the circumference of a circle with diameter of 2 inches. C = 9.42 in.

2,4 What is radius? A line segment that has one endpoint at the center and the other endpoint on the circle

3,1 A baseball diamond is a square measuring 90 feet on each side. What is the area of the infield (inside the diamond)? The area is 90 times 90 or 8100 square feet.

3,2 Describe a method of finding the perimeter of a square if you know the area of the same square. Calculate the square root of the area to find the length of a side of the square. Multiply that length by four to find the perimeter!

3,3 What is the formula used to find circumference? C= d П or 2r П

3,4 What is Circumference? The distance around a circle

4,1 How many 1” by 1” squares will fit into a rectangle that measures 4” by 12” ? 48 squares will fit into the rectangle.

4,2 If the length of a rectangle measures twice the width, and the perimeter is 72 feet, find the dimensions of the rectangle. The length of the rectangle is 24 feet and the width is 12 feet. (Check: = 72)

4,3 Find the circumference of a circle with a radius of 7 cm. C = cm

4,4 What is perimeter? The distance around the outside of a figure

5,1 Linoleum costs $7 a square yard. Calculate the cost to cover a 9 foot by 15 foot kitchen floor. The kitchen floor is 15 square yards. It would cost $105 to cover the kitchen floor.

5,2 An isosceles trapezoid has bases that measure 10 inches and 15 inches. A side of the trapezoid measures 8 inches. Find the perimeter. The perimeter of the trapezoid is or 41 inches.

5,3 You are presented with a gold plated hula-hoop. The presenter tells you that it is worth about $62.62 per inch of length. If the diameter of the hula-hoop is twenty-seven inches, how much is it worth? It is worth $

5,4 What is Diameter? A line segment that passes through the center of a circle and has both endpoints on the circle
