Design Strategies

Design Strategies: Morphing It’s not always easy to design. We are going to look at a range of tasks that hopefully will help you in the future. We call these tasks, design strategies. These strategies can be helpful when you are designing any product. We are going to look at the following design strategy : Morphing

Try this exercise to help you draw a face. The face is made from a number of circles. Design Strategies: Morphing

Using the face create earlier, develop a wide range different expressions. Which is your favourite? Design Strategies: Morphing

Round it further Cut it in half Round the corners Square the base Take a square Squash it! Stretch it! Cut the top off it. Cut it in half Cut the sides Using this techniques you can come up with lots of outline shapes for the face of your character Design Strategies: Morphing

Apply the morphing strategy to developing a range of faces.

Design Strategies: Morphing

Draw a range of faces using the morphing technique. Don’t forget to annotate and colour in your work. Start off with a shape of your choice and begin morphing it into a number of different shapes. Don’t forget to add a face and a little bit of imagination to your work. Task: Design Strategies: Morphing

Don’t forget to annotate your work. Adding colour and a black outline may help improve the presentation Other pupils work.

Design Strategy : mix & match and a bit of morphing? Still can’t think of any ideas…well here’s another idea. Just mix and match until you get the idea you want. Then begin adding your own detail hair/beards/glasses/ horns/ ears. Have a go..
