How to use Postcron Margaret Huck

What is Postcron and How does it help me manage my online FB parties?  Postcron is an essential lifesaving, timesaving tool in managing my online parties! As a wife and busy mom of two and a full time interpreter. I don’t have time to do posts individually. Remember, I typically have three parties running at one time with up to ten posts per day per group!  Postcron is a web based social media scheduling tool that allows me to upload the text, graphic and/or web link that I want to post in a specific Facebook group at a specific date and time for the duration of my party.

Accounts: I subscribed to the pro account so I have unlimited pending posts, with 18 posts per day per group. Just a note about subscribing with a Pro account or higher, you can add the members of your team and they have the exact same privileges you do…a great way to help lower the cost for each individual. Yes, There is a Free option!

2 Ways to use Postcron  First you will log on and link your parties to Postcron. This is what allows you to post to your FB parties.  You can schedule your post one at a time.  You can use the Bulk Upload feature which is the time saving way to run your parties smoothly allowing more time for interaction and responding to comments.  Knowing my information/game posts will be taken care of allows me the freedom to find more ways to make guest experience better.

Schedule multiple post at once  By using a spreadsheet (it can be Excel or Google Docs) and following a simple format, you can schedule content to be published automatically for days or weeks at a time. In other words, you can make a list of posts, calmly, editing them with no pressure and then upload it to Postcron. So, by uploading just one single file you’ve gotten ahead on your work for weeks in advance. Let’s take a look at how it works!

Creating a Spreadsheet  The first thing to do is to go to Excel or Google Docs and create a new spreadsheet with 8 columns, and then fill it in with the following format:  In column A, place the text of each post (eg “Happy Spring”).  In column B, insert the year in which you want to publish.  In column C, put the month in which you want to publish.  In column D, enter the day you want to share content.  In column E, insert the hour (military time) that you want it to be published (eg 19).  In column F, write the minute that you want the post to be posted (eg 45)  In column G, place a link to a photo to accompany your post (the image must be JPG or PNG to be programmed without errors).  In column H, insert a link to your site or page you want.  NOTE: The last two columns are not mandatory, so they can be left empty if you want.  Each horizontal row is a post, so if you’ve filled up 10 rows, 10 posts will be scheduled. Saving your Document:  When you’ve finished creating the spreadsheet, all you have to do is download/save the document in “csv” format.  If you’re working with Excel, you should go to “File”, “Save As” and select file type “CSV”.  If you’re working in Google Docs, go to File -> Download as -> comma separated values (CSV) (you can find your file ready to upload to Postcron in the Downloads folder).  If this sounds a bit complicated, you can watch the two minute video at the end of this power point.  Now that your spreadsheet is saved you have a permanate party script you can follow.

Uploading your Spreadsheet:

This screen pops up just click in this blue box. Then select your spreadsheet.csv file. Click the bottom right of the upload screen where it says “open” your file will be uploaded to postcron.

Uploaded Screen: Now that your file has been uploaded you will get a screen like this. Here you can review your post to make sure everything is correct. If there is a problem with your spreadsheet THIS is where postcron will tell you. I sometimes forget to post a time and postcron will tell me there is a error with that post. I can cancel the upload and fix my spreadsheet then redo the upload.

Review Scheduled Post:  Which ever way you chose to schedule your post you can review and change them by going to the main dashboard and scrolling down a bit.

Wrapping up….  At Jamberry, great customer service is our focus!
