Ed Tech Goals To give our students the skills needed by today’s teachers to…  Use cognitive organizers and word processors both for lesson planning and instructional purposes  Use presentation software both for lesson presentation and instructional purposes  Use spreadsheets for analysis of student results

Ed Tech Goals (cont.) To give our students the skills needed by today’s teachers to…  Use of digital tools such as scanners, document cameras, etc.  Use of digital cameras, both still and movie  Develop an instructional project coordinated with instructors from all areas of program

Turn On - Log On To turn on  IMAC: button on back, sleep - any key  Ibook: apple upper right Type in: user name and password  User Name:  Password:  You’ll create your WU account during this orientation student password

Creating your WU account Go to Willamette University home page: (you may already be there) and select Internal Web  Last selection on menu to left

Creating your WU account (cont.) In left (Student) area…  Create an account for yourself by selecting Create a new network account - follow the directions  Select Blackboard Click User Login Click Forgot Password? the first time to set your password Log in

Creating your WU account (cont.)  You’ll need to enroll in your classes as your instructors indicate use of Blackboard Click on Courses tab at the top Click on Education Folder Click Enroll to the right of each course in which you need to enroll Those courses will then appear on your main Blackboard Page Use Back to return to WU Internal Web Page

In left (Student) area…  If you want to forward your , select forwarding address - follow the directions  If you would like a parking permit, select Parking Permit Application, and follow the directions  To change your password, select change your network password - follow the directions

Oregon Technology in Education Network Go to the OTEN site:  Select conferences for information on Inspiration in Technology Integration Conference  Select Online registration for all OTEN Conferences and register for the Sept 23 conference at Pacific University
