MFL - HISTORY TRIP TO MUNICH rd JULY - 6 th JULY Mr Stokes Mrs Caldwell

Day 1 - Outbound Travel Details Friday morning: Meet at back of school at 4.00am to leave at 4.30am Make sure you have Ehic and passport in hand luggage Please be careful not to block gate/road Take some money for breakfast at airport Flight from Birmingham to Munich (Lufthansa) Dep: am Arr: am Train to centre of Munich – short walk to hotel

Day 1 – Friday Arrive at hotel approx pm Organise rooming for pupils at hotel Walk to the Viktualienmarkt for lunch Sightseeing in Munich city centre Evening meal at hotel Meeting about booklets/rules etc… Free time – Early night!

Day 2 - Saturday Morning Guided walking tour of Munich (3 hours) on the Third Reich topic – booklets Lunch at the famous Hofbrauhaus - language Afternoon Sightseeing on open air bus to include the Olympic Park and Nymphenburg Castle Evening meal at hotel Evening - bowling / park

Day 3 - Sunday Morning Visit Dachau Concentration camp – audio tour/booklets Afternoon Visit Englischer Garten for lunch, reflection, relaxation and music Evening Back to the hotel for evening meal Bowling/cinema/park

Day 4 - Monday Morning Visit Deutsches Museum Afternoon Lunch followed by souvenir shopping Return to hotel Flight to Manchester Dep: 9.35pm - Arr pm Coach back to Stafford leaves approx pm Arrive at school approx: – 12.30am

Educational Visit Journals to be completed History - booklet work to be completed and put with GCSE notes. Language – to be used at hotel, on tours and in shops Culture - buildings, food, music, fashion

Luggage VERY IMPORTANT 1 x hold luggage = 20KG (pupils must be able to carry it!) 1 x hand luggage = 5KG You will be liable for any excess, so pack lightly please! Label luggage clearly Recognisable bag No liquids, knives, sharp objects in cabin bag

Clothing You must bring: sensible/comfortable shoes weatherproof jacket (mac) one warm jumper sun cream / sunglasses towel

Money DAY 1 – breakfast at Birmingham. Money for lunch. DAY 2 – postcards/souvenirs from various areas visited. DAY 3 – lunch and postcards/souvenirs from various museums/shops DAY 4 – lunch and evening meal

PASSPORTS Passport EHIC card Please put in hand luggage to show to Mrs Caldwell on entering coach. No passport/Ehic = no travelling

MEDICAL FORMS Please fill in before you leave. Medication handed to Mr Stokes prior to 3 rd July. Please see us Emergency telephone number cards will be issued to pupils.

Personal Belongings Ipads – do you really need it? Phones – be aware of roaming costs and avoid calling home. Phones /mp3 players are not permitted during the day around Munich. Cameras – the cheaper the better
