2014 Wolf review implemented First entry counts for performance tables 2015 Some schools opt for progress scale used for attainment 8 / progress 8 New KS2 assessments (sept 2016 Y7) 2017 First reformed GCSE taken (EN+MA) 1-9 scale used for performance tables 2018 More reformed GCSE’s 2019 Last batch of reformed GCSE’s 2021 Pupils with new KS2 assessment from 2016 are now Y11

Rates of progress and MEG’s 1.MEG will be the minimum expected grade for each student based on their KS2 entry profile 2.We would expect all staff and students to aim for higher – a MEG is not a target ! 3.MEG’s are directly linked to Raiseonline and the transition matrices for expected progress 4.In the raiseonline library you can see how 40 different subjects are measured by the DFE 5.MEG’s will be linked to progress reports, parents evenings, PLC’s, appraisal, DFE, OFSTED.

Effective use of data Data will be shared with parents and students three times a year Data will still be collected 5 times a year for internal purposes – This will need to include C’s + E’s Each time you input your data on Progresso please can you also update your seating plans Seating plans should show current, predicted and target grades for each student and a summary of the class and targeted interventions and support taking place.

Flight path and MEG We will not use targets We are aiming for each student to make two sub-levels of progress each year so that they meet their MEG KS4 MEG

14 Overview of KS4 accountability reforms 5A*-C replaced by ‘Progress 8’ for floor standards Additional reporting of – ‘Attainment 8’ – Maths and English – Ebacc – Other valid qualifications Double weighting of maths and English in Progress 8 and Attainment 8 New approach applies to all for 2016 results Moving our system to expected and more than expected progress prepares us for Progress 8 and how students will be measured from their starting points in all subjects

GROUP 3 ‘Open group’ Remaining Ebacc qualifications and other approved qualifications (GCSEs and other approved academic, arts or vocational qualifications) GROUP 2 Ebacc qualifications (sciences, computer science, geography, history and languages) GROUP 1 English: Double weighted* Maths: Double weighted *Higher score of English Language or English Literature double weighted if a student has taken both qualifications Progress 8 explained

Did the class/student make expected progress? Expected progress made ? No further action required  Not made 1. How far away? – how many? 3. What do you need to prioritise? 2. ID the problem(s) How well do you know your students? 1.Is it a lack of progress over several yrs? 2.Is subject knowledge the issue? 3.Are subject skills the issue? 4.Is revision/exam technique an issue? 5.Is exam performance an issue? 6.Is classwork / homework OK? 7.Is controlled assessment OK? 8.Is CA target grade +1 9.Is attendance an issue ? 10.Do you have detailed planning based on knowledge of student data? 11.Do you share / feedback success criteria?
