Important Information Compulsory courses failed in SEMESTER 1 must be included on the Course Selection Form. Changes will be made once courses have been successfully completed. There will be NO elective changes for students in Grades 9 and 10. Therefore you need to be careful when choosing your electives –You need to choose two electives –You must have alternates courses If you are in Applied Math and next year you want to take Academic Math, you need to go to summer school and take a two weeks transfer course: MPM 1H –On your course selection you still need to put ‘Applied’ –Only when you have completed the transfer course will your math will be changed to ‘Academic’

SUMMER SCHOOL Information will be available the end of April. A Gr. 9 student can take acceleration courses at summer school. The ONLY course that a Grade 9 student is allowed to take at summer school is: Civics/Career Studies

Here you will see the courses you are currently enrolled in, and the courses you need to input for next year. If you are planning to take Career Studies and Civics in the summer then you need to do the following steps: Click on the plus sign below submit ON-LINE COURSE SELECTIONS CONT…

Once you have clicked the plus sign this screen shows up Go to ‘Select’ and scroll down to ‘Canadian World Studies’ Click on the ‘CHV2O1’ Click on ‘Add Courses’

ON-LINE COURSE SELECTIONS CONT… Go back to the plus sign below ‘Submit’ Click the plus sign and this screen will appear Go to ‘Select’ and scroll down to ‘Guidance and Career Education’ Click on the ‘GLC2O1’ Once you have done this, you will see an extra elective space for you to complete Career Studies and Civics are now at the bottom

ON-LINE COURSE SELECTIONS CONT… Once you have completed inputting all of your courses and your parents have been involved in the process: –Press the ‘Submit’ button –Print the course selection sheet –Have your parents sign the course selection sheet –Attach a cheque in the amount of $ payable to Jean Vanier Catholic High School –Hand the course selection sheet to your homeroom teacher along with the Activity Fee NOTE: 1.ALL students should complete a Course Selection sheet, even if you are not planning on returning. 2.The JVCHS Student Course Guide can be viewed by clicking on the blue textbook icon on the top right corner of the screen.
