Operation via GUI

Site List, Site Maps and Groups Site List The site list give the operation an indication what is available for selection onto his operator page. The icon denotes if it is a fixed camera or a PTZ camera. If a red symbol appears next to the icon it denotes that the camera is not available Site Maps ViconNet allows for the addition of site maps that will give the operator a visual indication of camera location. Maps can be multilayer, so that the operator can drill down to obtain greater detail of the site. Cameras that are available for selection appear blue, with cameras that have been selected would change to green. The cameras will display on the GUI in the segment that has been selected. Group ViconNet allows for logical groups to be set-up, therefore giving the operator improved indication of the site. Eg Warehouse Cameras, Car Park Cameras, Building 1.

Display Controls Display Controls. The GUI offers the operator to select the amount of images that are required for view. These are single view, quad, 6 images, 9 images, 16 images and full screen of selected display. PTZ (Pan Tilt and Zoom) Controls Cameras that have been set-up as PTZ will appear in the list/group or map with a PTZ icon. On selection an indicator will be overlaid on the video image allowing all the cameras functionality. A keypad emulator will also appear on the GUI to offer further functions such as pre-set call up, auto-pan and auxiliary functions.

Display Controls Will allow you to view up to 16 cameras Single Quad 6 images 9 images 16 images PTZ (Pan Tilt & Zoom) This if available will allow full manual control of the cameras and setting and recall of pre-sets

Quick Playback This option is carried out on the main GUI screen when you are viewing a live image. With the mouse and hovering the curser over the image, if you use the right click button. You will be given the option of start quick playback from. You will be given seven options:- 10 seconds, 30 seconds, 1 minute, 2 minutes, 5 minutes, 10 minutes and 30 minutes. On the selection the recorded image will appear to the right or left of the live image. The playback function keys will now be made available to you. These will be at the bottom of the screen. This will give total control of the playback in both direction and at multiple speeds.

Playback Playback Select (explanation of pink page) & Playback Selection area (explanation on blue bars) By using the method in the previous sections. You can choose the cameras that you need to playback. These now will appear as blue lines, indicating the recorded images. The more that you view in the more detail is given. You will note that the blue line start to show highs and lows. This is a visual indication of activity in front of the camera. Highs represent high activity and lows indicated reduced activity.

Museum Search Museum Search (single camera search) This search method is limited to one camera at a time. Once you have selected the camera and the time period that you need to search within. Using the mouse and the left mouse key. Left click and drag the mouse to select the period. Then press the Museum Search button at the bottom of the GUI. The screen will change giving you a snap shot of the camera of interest. Using the tool box palette you can highlight the area of interest. The press the List + Picture button in the All Detections area, and the search will start. If movement is detected you will see the files being created in the central boxed area. This will list time of movement, which you can now use to do a more in depth search. Note Museum search is not available at this time on all IP cameras

Reports ViconNet Reports The system will allow the administrator to interrogate the system, to view current status and past history.

Print/Export Image Print is available from the main GUI screen. This will allow you to make a hard copy print of what you have selected to a printer. A printer must be connected for this function to be made possible. Export Image is also available from the main GUI. This function will allow you to export a still recorded image to your computer files within your system.

When using the option for Print Whatever you have on screen you will print Press the Print button Then selecting the printer

Archiving The system will allow you to archive to CD/DVD/External Hard Drive. – By selecting the cameras of interest and the time and date – Selecting the duration of the archive to suit the media used CD = 650 MB DVD = 4.7 GB Pen Drive = ( dependent on drive ) !! Once this is done. Give the archive an extension name so that you can identify it at a later stage.

Once you have found the camera/s plus date and time. Left click and drag to the side to highlight the area to be archived. Press the Create Archive button The area selected will change Green.
