-Understand what screencasting is and how it could be used in your classroom. -Learn various features of the screencasting app “Explain Everything.” -Exploration time in Explain Everything via Mini Challenges. -Sending your create work to our shared Google Drive Folder. -Observing your created work as a group. Goals for Today

Stop Lecturing….Start Screencasting! A screencast is combining pictures, demonstrations, drawings, narration and text on a screen to create a video. Benefits: An expert close at hand. Recipients get a visual, moving demo with a friendly voice, we can also have text annotations on screen and animations. Can be replayed at will any hour of any day.

Task: -Go to khanacademy.org -“Search” for something you want to learn about. -Watch 2 minutes of the video. -Visit our Padlet and answer the questions. -Our Padlet can be found at:

Tools in Explain Everything We will show you how to… -insert images -insert arrows and lines -how to insert an image (from Camera Roll and Google Drive) -how to set an image as a background -how to use the trace tool -how to duplicate and group images -how to record audio within your slides -how to save as an Explain Everything file,.PDF file, and video file.

Station 1: Recording a Multiplication Problem -On a blank template, solve the multiplication problem 26 x 26. -While solving, press the record button and explain the process. -Export the problem as a “Movie File” into the shared Google folder when finished. -Label it as “FirstName Multiplication”

Station 2: Word Sort -Use the word list provided to create a word sort. -Categorize them using the line tools.(Make sure to lock down the lines.) -Record yourself saying the word while moving it under the correct syntax. -Export it out to YouTube when finished.

Station 3: Main Idea / Summary Main Idea/Summary, Hard copy of short article -Insert snap shots of article. -Underline important details and main idea of the first section (use subheading as guide) -Create a t-chart in the new slide (headings: Important Details and Main Idea) -In chart, list important idea of paragraph and evidence to support it. -Repeat steps in the same EE for the following paragraphs.

Station 4: Geothermal Energy -Watch YouTube video on Geothermal Energy Watch again, take 7 screenshots to identify Geothermal process. -Use EE to create a graphic organizer of the Geothermal Process.

Station 5: Measuring Angles -Insert the image of the protractor from the shared Google Folder. -Find the [i] icon and “send to back.” -Create an obtuse, acute, and right angle by using the “line tool”. -Lable them and write/type how many degrees each one was. -When finished, export this as a “picture” to the shared Google Drive folder.

Station 6: Summary -Go to and click on the “Top Story.” -Take a Screenshot of it. (You may have to take multiple screenshots due to length.) -Crop and insert these screenshots into multiple pages. -Create questions that you want students to answer about the article. -Export it out as a “Project File” and.PDF file in the shared Google folder.

Station 7: Word Problems -Take a picture of the printed word problem. (Crop as necessary.) -Underline and label the “WIK” and “WINK.” -Once labeled, record and solve the problem. -Circle the correct answer when finished. -Export to YouTube when finished.Call the file “FirstName Word Problem.”
