NEWSPAPER INDUSTRY FACES EXISTENTIAL CRISES

VOCABULARY Disseminate To scatter or spread widely; distribute: Unintended  Not intended Existential  Relating to existence. Stakeholder  A person, group or organization that has interest or concern in an organization.

NEED AND IMPORTANCE OF NEWSPAPERS Newspapers disseminate knowledge.   They empower citizens.   They play a critical role in nation-building They nurture the intellect, and offer a cerebral counterpoint to the occasionally mindless shenanigans of other media.  A democracy thus owes it to itself to ensure that its newspapers are empowered to be free, to be fearless.  

PRESENCE OF OTHER MEDIA. 

IT IS UNDERMINED BY RISING COSTS,  SINCE A LARGE QUANTITY OF NEWSPRINT THAT WE CONSUME IS STILL IMPORTED.

THE INTERNET REVOLUTION HAS DEMOCRATIZED INFORMATION BY MAKING IT FREE

MANY ISSUES INCLUDING ATTEMPTED REGULATION BY GOVERNMENT
